Authorities in Washington have released new images of Travis Decker, the 32-year-old father accused of killing his three young daughters, as the multi-agency manhunt for him continues. Decker remains at large, and police are urging the public to remain vigilant.
New Images Highlight Suspect’s Tattoos and Clothing
On Saturday, June 7, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) shared a wanted poster on Facebook that includes new and previously released images of Decker. The photos show Decker with his hair pulled back and reveal several identifiable tattoos on his arms and ankles. He was last seen wearing a tan or green T-shirt and dark shorts.
Decker is described as 5’8” tall, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered dangerous and may be armed, according to authorities.
Victims Were Last Seen During a Planned Visitation
Decker’s daughters — Paityn, 9; Evelyn, 8; and Olivia, 5 — were last seen alive during a court-approved visitation with their father on May 30. The next day, the Wenatchee Police Department issued an endangered missing persons alert. Tragically, that alert was canceled on June 2, when the bodies of the three girls were discovered near the Rock Island Campground in Leavenworth, Washington.
According to court documents, Decker had visited the same campground a day before the alleged kidnapping. A preliminary report lists the suspected cause of death as asphyxiation. Police found a blanket, wallet, food, car seats, and two bloody handprints in Decker’s abandoned pickup truck near the crime scene.
Search Expands Across Washington Forests
The CCSO says hundreds of law enforcement officers are combing through forests, structures, and recreation areas in Chelan County. Although one local road has been reopened, the public is being warned to stay cautious and report any suspicious activity.
“We continue these search efforts, acting upon gathered information and tips from the public,” said the CCSO in its statement. Authorities have also notified the U.S. Forest Service that recreational areas can reopen, though the search remains active.
Suspect Searched How to Flee to Canada
Court documents reveal that just days before the murders, Decker had conducted internet searches on how to move to Canada, including queries like “how to relocate to Canada” and “Canadian job site.” Authorities are concerned he may be attempting to flee the country.
$20,000 Reward Offered for Information
A $20,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to Decker’s arrest. Authorities are urging residents to check doorbell cameras and outdoor surveillance footage and to contact police immediately with any relevant information.
Anyone who sees Decker should not approach him and should call 911 or contact the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 509-667-6845. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online.
Community Grieves as Search Continues
Arianna Cozart, an attorney representing the girls’ mother, Whitney Decker, said in a statement that the family is devastated. “Everybody cares that Travis is found — for peace of mind if nothing else,” she told PEOPLE.
This tragedy has shocked the local community and brought renewed focus to child safety during custody visitations.
