Chris Taylor has been designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers, ending his nine-year tenure with the Major League Baseball team.
Taylor joined the Dodgers in 2016, after being traded from the Seattle Mariners. During his time with the Dodgers, he became known for his versatility, playing multiple positions including infield and outfield roles. He was an important contributor to the Dodgers’ success, helping the team win two World Series titles and four National League pennants.
The 2021 season was a highlight in Taylor’s career, with notable postseason performances including a walk-off home run in the NL Wild Card game and a three-home run game in the NL Championship Series.

This season, Taylor’s batting average declined, hitting .200 over 28 games. With the return of Tommy Edman from injury, the Dodgers made the decision to designate Taylor for assignment on 18 May 2025.
Taylor’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the Dodgers, where he was regarded as a reliable and versatile player.
