IPL 2025: From India’s poorest state to richest T20 league, teen sensation stuns cricket world

IPL Match 2025 - brings new talent from India

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s meteoric rise in the IPL 2025 has left everyone in awe, and rightly so. A 14-year-old from Bihar, playing for Rajasthan Royals, smashed the fastest IPL century by an Indian, all while sending shockwaves through the cricketing world.

Hailing from the poorest regions in the world, Bihar—his father a farmer and part-time journalist—Vaibhav’s journey is a testament to the power of raw talent and determination.

What sets him apart is his fearless, natural approach to batting. His 101 off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans is more than just a number—it’s a statement, an explosive one.

With an explosive bat speed and a remarkable ability to read the bowler’s length early, he’s proved he can take on the world’s best bowlers. But this is just the beginning.

To make it big in the cricketing world, Vaibhav needs to harness his game with more consistency and mental toughness.

Exposure to international cricket will be key. If he continues to hone his game while maintaining his fearless attitude, he has the potential to become a mainstay in India’s top cricketing circles. But young raw talent is often struck with miscalculation, leading to overconfident posture, that hunts the innate abilities on the ground.

With early success, a young and unpolished batsman, might fall prey to assuming every bowler as easy. An easy prey to self-ego promoting that can cost innings and matches. Sometimes tournaments too.

Vaibhav will have to keep a check. At 14-years, that is difficult. He must keep himself close to experienced members of the fraternity and should be close to his father, without forgetting his roots. That should keep him humble.

This IPL is only his launchpad—international exposure awaits for a talent like no other.

The key for Vaibhav now is to channel his energy and develop his technique further, ensuring that his talent doesn’t just shine in flashes but burns bright for years to come.
